FAQ
Do I need a prescription?
Under Texas law, you are allowed to see a physical therapist for a maximum of 10 or 15 business days (depending on the training of the physical therapist) before a prescription is required. Dr. Boyd is a fellowship trained physical therapist which allows for 15 business days of treatment before a prescription is required. Please contact us if you have any specific questions regarding a prescription for physical therapy.
Do you accept insurance?
Texoma Physio is a physical therapy practice focused on the highest quality of care. Because of increased burdens with authorizations, visit limitations, and specific restrictions on select treatments, we have chosen to not be an in network provider with most insurance companies. Texoma Physio is a credentialed Medicare Part B provider as Medicare guidelines explicitly restrict Medicare beneficiaries from receiving private pay physical therapy care if it is deemed medically necessary. There are certain treatments and situations that are deemed not medically necessary per Medicare guidelines which may fall under private pay.
We continuously review insurance company policies for possible networking. Any updates to in network insurance status will be available on this website. Please contact us to discuss specific questions regarding insurance coverage for physical therapy.
How does mobile physical therapy work?
As a mobile physical therapy provider, we come to you, wherever you are. Most of the time, we will meet a patient at their home. There are some occasions where we may meet a patient at another location such as a gym, work space, or athletic field.
For Medicare beneficiaries, please note that Medicare has stipulations about the location of treatment which is required to either be in a clinic or in the patient's home. In private pay situations, we have the freedom to meet the patient wherever it is convenient for them.
Is Texoma Physio able to provide services beyond the Texoma area?
Texoma Physio is primarily focused on providing high quality physical therapy care in the Texoma region and is currently only working within the State of Texas. Despite this, we are able to reach almost any patient via a telehealth platform. There is the potential to see anyone from any state via telehealth, but those situations would have to be assessed individually due to the complexity of various state practice laws.
